Greetings,

Please allow me to ask for some assistance with integrating the fault reporting from an ABB DALI gateway into Eisbar. I currently have a project that is using the DG/S1.1 connected to Eisbaer 2.1 using the multiconvertor. It is working fine, but or site would like to make some upgrades, and I am unsure exactly how to proceed.

The scenarios is as follows:

Group addresses are populated in objects 4,5,6,7,15,16 of the DG/S 1.1

It then connects to Eisbaer to use the multiconvertor that can select each device one at a time and then decide if it has a lamp or device failure before displaying it as a visual for the user.

Below is the code written in C#

Problem 1

When I upgrade from version 2.1 and run the same project in version 3. The code no longer operates. It is a live site so it can be difficult to test. Should this same code from 2.1 be compatible with version 3?

Problem 2

When upgrading from a DG/S 1.1 to a DG/S 1.64.1, the objects operate differently.

The 1 byte “Select Device” object 7 in the 1.1 has been replaced with a 1 bit “Switch up next ballast fault” object 25.

DG/S 1.1

DG/S 1.64.1

Would anyone understand this and the best way to move forward.

Below is the visual of how it looks. Unfortunately, it is not live so you can not see the values that detail the lamp or ballast failures.

Am I missing something simple? Or is it best to start the program again to work with the DG/S 1.16.1?

Any help or examples would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Chris,

the first line of the multiconverter code must be replaced, then it should work again. 
public override void Parse( string sInputName, Hashtable htInputValues, Hashtable htOutputValues, System.Collections.Generic.List<string> OutputNames = null )

As correctly recognized, the behaviour of the new Daligateways has changed compared to the DG/S1.1.
you have to adapt the code.
Alternatively, our help describes how to query the status with our fault message manager.

Would you be able to assit in adjusting this code?

Im an electrician who is not great at all with coding. I have already purchased the new dongle. I just need to get the site back up and going as soon as possible.

I believe this code was writen by a member of the Eisbaer team but have not had much luck with support on this via email.

Hopefully its just somthing quick and simple that I am missing.

since the solution with the faultmanager exists, multiconverter code was never written for the new ABB Daligateways.

I understand, As we move from the DG/S 1.1 to DG/S 1.64 we should recommission each part of the site using the faultmanager. Would you be able to point me to a guide that describes the best method to build and commmission this? This is a very large secure site, so Im trying to understand best practice before moving forward.

But if the code only works in V2.1 then should I tell the site that they dont really need to upgrade to V3?

The site have gone ahead and spent all this money on upgrades and now are asking me why the code is broken. I dont know how to explain this to them.

the code is not broken, only definitions have been changed.

if you adjust the first line as described above, the code should also work in Eisbär 3.
